NIIT Technologies Greater Noida Campus awarded the LEED Platinum rating

New Delhi, India, 14th September, 2011, Wednesday: NIIT Technologies Limited, a leading global IT solutions organization is ensuring that it remains on the Green path, as it steps up its growth and expansion initiatives. The Company has been conferred with the Platinum Green Building rating for the Software Development Block (SDB) on its new campus. This is the highest level of green building certification awarded by the Indian Green Building Council's LEED rating system.

Built on a total floor area of approximately 300,000 square feet, spread over 10 acres of land, the project is part of a larger 25 acre campus designed to integrate people, spaces, and complex workflow. The building was conceived and built with a holistic approach to sustainability in five key areas: sustainable site development, water saving, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.

Commenting on the certification, Mr. Bhaskar Chavali, Chief Delivery Officer, NIIT Technologies said, “Environmental sustainability is the focus for us and our clients. We continually work to reduce the ecological impact of our operations and support the growing conscience to be responsible to the environment”.

Among its Green features is the capability to achieve water savings of over 35 percent. The facility has an advanced storm water system to capture 100 percent of the rain water and onsite waste water treatment plant which treats the entire waste water generated. The project has additionally demonstrated exceptional water conservation measures, managing to reuse or recycle almost 99 percent of all construction waste generated on site, thereby preventing it from going to the landfill.

Jointly audited by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) and US Green Building Council (USGBC), the LEED certification endorses NIIT Technologies’ Green initiatives, recognizing the Company’s commitment to superior standards of quality, and efficient utilization and conservation of energy, water and natural resources.
